Condition & Notes

This unit is in new-old-stock (NOS) condition, and is complete with all the original packaging and documentation.

The box was still sealed when I acquired it, and the mouse had never been used. While I find NOS items to be interesting, I am usually of the opinion that opening them for the purposes of documentation and caretaking is acceptable in most circumstances, especially with minor items like peripherals.

This mouse is essentially a slightly tweaked version of the white Apple Pro Mouse, which was in turn based on the black version introduced at Macworld New York in July 2000. This version removes the click tension adjustment dial on the bottom, removes the “Pro” branding, and the side grips are white instead of clear. It retains the same model number (M5769) as the Pro Mouse, but is a different order number (M9035G/A for North America).

 Packaging

While this mouse uses the same model number as the prior Pro Mouse, it is a different order number (M9035G/A).

This mouse was in new-old-stock condition when I acquired it, still factory-sealed and never opened before.

In addition to the outer plastic bag, there is also a thin plastic sheet with adhesive on one side protecting the acrylic shell of the mouse.

Given how easily these mice can get scratched up from normal use, along with their tendency to yellow with time and UV exposure, it’s neat to see one in pristine condition.

Documentation

The User’s Guide explains how to use the side grips.
